The very first step is to drink the social media wine. What does that mean? You need to understand what social media means and how it works and the only way to do that is to actually participate in it. Here are some things you can do:
- Read some blogs
- Go to YouTube.com and watch some videos
- Create an account in Linkedin.Com
- Create an account at Facebook.com
- Try your hand at Twitter.com
- Listen to some audio podcasts
The subject of the blogs you read or videos you watch don’t matter that much.You don’t HAVE to look into your industry. Check out a subject that has to do with one of your favorite pastimes like golf or antique collecting. The point is to simply participate in social media. With that participation, you will understand better and bring that understanding to your company.
